Abstract
In 1968, a technique for the removal of old linings from oil paintings was developed, using the vacuum hot table. Mulberry paper is attached to the painting surface with wax-resin adhesive. A 45 degrees c. surface temperature is sufficient to soften the old lining glue. -- ICCROM
