Abstract
Fluoroplastics are a class of paraffinic polymers that have all or some of their hydrogen replaced by fluorine. They include polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) resin, polychlorotrifluoro ethylene (PTFE), ethyline chlorotrifluoro ethylene copolymer (ECTFE), ethylene tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and polyvinyl fluoride (PVF). The chemical structure, properties, applications, and trade names of each type of fluoroplastic are discussed.
