Abstract
In most cases the remedies for poor quality indoor air will be a matter of discussion with other consultants, client organisations, health experts and others. There will not be a recipe for action that the architect can immediately specify. So this second half of our coverage of indoor air quality focuses on the questions for discussion in terms of standards and the strategy for selecting remedies. To give a flavour of what may be entailed we provide two contrasting case studies: one where the risks and the remedies are established - for asbestos - and one where uncertainty is rife - for sick building syndrome.
