Abstract
Egg tempera pictures were drawn with pigments and vehicles containing a 5% emulsion of TBZ (148-79-8) fungicide, and were kept 7 days at 30° and 86% relative humidity. No fungal growth was detected. The antifungal power of pigments was tested by the plate agar method. The volume of each pigment was measured, and the pigments were mixed. Volume ratio of mixed pigments was expressed by percentage. Antifungal power was multiplied by the percentage of volume ratio of each pigment, and the results were added. This final result expressed the total antifungal power of the mixed color. If the total antifungal power was >1300, it would be free from fungal growth. -- AATA
