Abstract
In recent years, heat-seal techniques have been used for the preservation of fragile textiles. The paper re-evaluates treatment of an Oriental silk screen with a heat-seal technique from an ethical standpoint and compares this method with simple placing of the textile between a rigid support and glass. Practical considerations of time, cost and materials are included.
