Abstract
In order to study the effectiveness of using FEVE (concentration 15%) and IIDI trimer concentration 20% to protect ancient paper-based relics, the tensile strength, specular gloss, acid resistance and dry heat resistance of the samples were tested after treatment by different concentration of FEVE and HDI trimer. They were further observed and analyzed by SEM. It has been shown that the fluorine polymer FEVE and HDI trimer can improve the mechanical strength, and stop or slow down the attack of acid and heat on ancient relics. So it is a good protective material for paper-based relics. -- ICCROM
