Rastiskovice, Czechoslovakia, is known for folk aprons made with rich layers of embroidery and lace. Black chintz aprons from the 1800s were stitched in simple three-colored motifs with red, white, and green wool. The years between 1900 and 1925 were the Golden Age for these aprons. Apron motifs include stylized hearts, penny rose, and grapes. A four-inch band of coarse, cream-colored bobbin lace with red and green inserts decorates the hem. A design of small triangles, called wolf's teeth, are embroidered up the side to ward off evil.
