Abstract
Mechanical action was studied for both laundering and drycleaning relative to various processing parameters such as water or solvent level, acceleration and gravitational force in the washing machine, time, load, textile absorbency and size, type of drycleaning machine, and fabric type. The amount of soil removal from fabric samples was determined, as well as the mechanical action number, which is the sum of the loosened threads from a sample. -- AATA
