Abstract
The aggregation state of stone elements of the temples of Vespasian and Saturn and of the Column of Foca in Rome was studied to determine which consolidation processes would be most suitable for their restoration. The study was carried out by means of experimental dynamic tests on the above monuments and by working out numerical models simulating the behavior of such structures even under the stress of strong shifting or earthquakes. The comparison of results between the theoretical calculations and experimental tests yields useful hints concerning the restoration procedures.
