Information was gathered on the present status of conservation of ethnographical material, and is considered under the following headings: facilities for conservation; Exhibition and storage conditions; fumigation; Methods of treatment; Documentation; transport. The lack of trained personnel is the most serious problem, particularly in many museums in Africa and Asia. A four-point program is suggested. -- ICCROM
