Abstract
During the first cleaning of the tapestry in over 60 years the yarns (wool, plus gold and silver on silk cores) were found to be in good condition. The silver was detarnished with a thiourea preparation. This and detergent washing and rising were done on successive sections in a shallow tub, followed by air drying. Repairs will follow.
