Abstract
Land surveying, photogrammetry and photointerpretation have been practiced for a long time and their contribution in different phases of the archaeological research and documentation has proved to be of great value. These disciplines are methods for information capture, processing, analysis and final registration. They have to face demanding requirements on high content either of qualitative (pictorial), or of quantitative (metric) information, or both. In the light of personal experience (surveys of various Greek sites), research work (especially on digital approaches) and newly implemented instrumentation (E.D.M. s, analytical plotters and digital computer-assisted systems), an account is given of various methods and procedures which are, can or should be applied to facilitate prospection, documentation, restoration or other special projects. -- AATA
