Abstract
We briefly report about two dating projects held in collaboration with the Archaeological Department of the University of Turin and the Soprintendenza Archeologica per la Lombardia , respectively. The first project was carried on in parallel to restoration works at the Novalesa Abbey and concerned reused tiles inserted in a Romanesque stone wall, plus a few bricks from graves found below the floor of the central nave of the church. The second project was carried on just before important road works scrambled part of an early medieval rural site in the Po valley. From that site, pieces of baked earth underlying a few cooking areas were studied. Although the materials, analyzed with the fine-grain method, were quite different in hardness, texture and firing temperature, the dates obtained satisfactorily match those proposed on historical grounds, and, in some cases, they add further valuable information. -- AATA
