This paper commences with a short history of the gramaphone record, both cylinder and disc and also magnetic tape. The properties and reasons for deterioration are then discussed followed by specifications for correct storage. Brief mention is made of the services and function of the Australian National Collection of Sound Recordings. -- AATA
