Abstract
Most databases developed thus far for use in art history research are limited in their usefulness because they contain a limited amount of data. The author proposes that art historians would be more inclined to employ such databases if they contained greater amounts of data, and suggests accelerating the process of data acquisition through the use of scanners programmed specifically for the task of reading the research materials of art history. -- AATA
