Abstract
Because ownership of grain prior to exporting is diverse and scattered throughout the United States, it is difficult, if not impossible, to monitor and control insects uniformly in exported grain. Therefore, it is recommended to the regulatory interest (United States Department of Agriculture) that shipboard fumigation be allowed aboard some vessels. The author discusses the details and requirements of such procedures.
