A new test method which may meet the demand for reliable data for changes in properties of polymeric building materials under service conditions is featured. It involves the exposure of specimens of typical plastics used in construction to the simultaneous action of artificial weathering and mechanical stress. Advantages and weak points of the apparatus are pointed out. A summary of preliminary results is given.
