Abstract
The head of the steatite sculpture of Amenophis I and his mother Queen Ahmose Nofretiry was discovered in 1980 in a private collection. A cast of this head was prepared and the statuette was reassembled. Provenance of the statuette had never been determined but the trader of the head attested to its Karnak origins. Stylistic considerations in the sculpture's execution support a date between the 18th and 19th Dynasties. -- AATA
