Conservators of sculpture are trained in both the hand working and mechanical working of stone. Geology, petrography, and mineralogy are also part of the curriculum. Projects are provided by the National Museum and the Polish Army Museum; diploma students have had access to materials through the Polish Mediterranean Archaeology Station and the Polish Academy of Sciences. After completing the program, conservators are prepared to work on a conservation team, to enter scientific research, or to head a workshop. -- AATA
