Abstract
Gaize, calcareous marly limestone, is the oldest building stone found in Prague. The study of 22 types of gaize predicts the petrologic composition of the limestone-marl-sandstone that is the most durable. Chemically, the higher the content of CaO and MgO, the durability of the gaize decreases.
