Abstract
The application of highly accurate inkjet color matching to apparel CAD workflows has many potential benefits, including a reduced reliance on fabric swatches to supplement printed results. Through the development of a spectrally aware color workflow and iterative matching approach, printed results can be produced that match a referenced color standard to <1.0 ?e CMC 2:1 under any illuminate/observer combination. Standard workflows involving the communication of color information between departments and software applications typically encounter data exchange problems that can limit print accuracy. By using an instrumental correction process, the need for subjective color correction can be eliminated.
