Abstract
Researchers at Battelle's Columbus (Ohio) Laboratories are measuring the amount of light-or chemiluminescence -emitted by paper samples from the Library of Congress. Researchers have confirmed that wet paper oxidizes slower than dry and that variations in humidity can speed oxidation. Additional light-measuring research may determine how long a given paper will last and how various conditions affect it. -- AATA
