Abstract
Objects in museums are threatened by air pollution although the considerably reduced humidity prevents a more intense attack. A few reliable examples of damage to some metals such as silver and bronze and to some organic materials such as paper, textiles and leather are known. In organic materials high amounts of acid compounds may be due to the manufacturing process.
