Abstract
Monuments and sculptures in northern Bavaria are severely damaged by natural weathering. Two techniques of consolidation have proven to be successful: the treatment with silicic esters and the full-impregnation technique with acrylates. To hydrophobe the surface, solutions of silicone resins and silanes are used. For repairs, epoxy resins are suitable.
