Abstract
On February 5, 1977, a small museum was inaugurated during the official termination of the restoration on the ex-mission church of San Pedro y Pablo de Tumacacori, Sonora, Mexico. The Northwest Regional Center of INAH provided the technical knowledge and the cost of the restoration was provided locally by private funds. The church, an ultra-baroque structure finished in the last third of the 18th century, contained some polychromed statues and paintings of the same period as well as a carved and gilded retable. A brief history of the mission is included as well as photographs taken early in the 20th century and during and after restoration. No description of methods or materials is included. -- AATA
