Immediately on discovery of a flint mine at Krzemionki, Polish archaeologists were faced with the unprecedented problem of protecting and examining this type of object. This article is a summation of hitherto action undertaken, a recollection of half a century of destruction, examination and protection of the mine. -- AATA
