Abstract
Various bacteria, fungi, and yeast were isolated from two types of building stone found on the face of the church of Santa Maria della Pieve, Arezzo, Italy. Various growth inhibitors were tested: isothiazolinone chloride, benzalkonium chloride, imidazolidinylurea, sodium merthiolate, and sodium ampicillin. Isothiazolinone chloride was the most effective.
