Abstract
The techniques of painting pottery in antiquity are mentioned. Besides the decoration of pottery by burning, ceramics were also decorated by painting after burning. Polychrome of fired ceramics is restricted to red, brown, and black colors, while painting after firing allowed the use of various pigments.
