Twenty-five years of research in the analysis of archaeological and art historical materials at Brookhaven have shown that the success of a large collaborative project depends on close cooperation and detailed advance planning between the archaeologist or art-historian and the scientist. On the more practical level, the value of such projects to future research workers is critically dependent on the planning and implementation of data banks. Finally, more research needs to be done, especially in trace element analysis, on problems of standardization. -- AATA
