In-depth x-ray diffraction studies underway at the Textile Research Institute are providing information about the structure of both crystalline and noncrystalline regions of fibers. Recently acquired curve fitting programs and the requisite computer capabilities that resolve overlapping peaks in wide angle x-ray diffraction intensity profiles are discussed. Applications of new procedures to two series of high speed spun nylon 6 yarn samples is discussed. -- AATA
