The work reported in this project deals with the development of bandages for wound healing using soybean powder and cotton fabric coated with soybean powder. Bacteria’s present in normal wound burn and diabetic wound was analyzed by microbiology test. Then the sensitivity of the soybean powder was also evaluated against the identified bacteria. The fabric properties were analyzed as per ASTM standard test methods before and after coating with antibiotic medicine (Neosporin) and soybean powder. Then the fabrics are subjected to antibacterial test against the identified bacteria in the wound samples. The results show that soybean fabric and soybean coated fabrics has good antibacterial property. Further the soybean fibre has good biocompatibility property which improves the wound healing process.
