Abstract
A novel method, based on the centrifugal precipitation technique, has been used for preparing thin (1 mg/cm<sub>2</sub>) uniform and homogeneous sample of pottery shards for PIXE analysis. The reproducibility of the results has been tested on standard Perlman-Asaro samples and ancient Greek pottery shards. The abundances of more than 12 elements can be reliably measured. -- AATA
