Abstract
Xeroradiography was used to discern the presence and orientation of inclusions and small voids in pottery excavated in tomb groups of Late Bronze II (ca 1400-1200 BC) and Iron IA (ca 1200-1050 BC) in the Baq'ah Valley. This technique was performed on the vessels themselves and on thick-sections cut through the vessels to give an orthogonal view. Coil-built vessels finished by turning were distinguished from wheel-thrown vessels; stress cracks and patches used to repair them were also discerned. It was found that the thick sections were necessary to make some of these determinations. Preliminary findings from these continuing investigationsare tabulated.
