The case of the burnt frescos from Palomino in the church of the Santos in Valencia is a challenging problem that requires drastic new alternatives to traditional means of wall restoration. Very little is left untouched in this particular case: basically one document containing historic graphical information, and a few real references remaining that show the author’s technique (around 30% of the fragments). Using new inkjet-based technologies for digital imaging we reconstruct the missing elements and bring to life the appearance and context that once made this a very beautiful masterpiece. A new methodology been established that coordinates a perfect synergy between the different computer systems involved (digital camera, computer and printer), while simplifying the transfer to wall procedure that allows a harmonious coexistence of the current remaining fragments and the recreated ones.
