A handbook in three main parts: 1. An outline of the basic physics and principles of x-rays, techniques and the developing of x-ray films, including a useful comparative absorbtion table of some 50 pigments and x-rays showing the characteristic patterns produced by different types of wooden supports, 2. A description of the x-ray apparatus used, 3. Some dubious information, thereviewer feels, mentioning an incorrect diagnosis of the craquelure in Leonardo's <i>Annunciation.
