Abstract
From the middle of the 17th century to the middle of the 19th century, glaziers in England often marked their lead cames with an identifiable symbol. Fourteen of these marks were found on a restored 16th century window in the Burrell Collection in Glasgow when it was taken off display for conservation in 1986. The study of these marks has proved invaluable in helping to piece together the history of the window. -- AATA
