Reports on tests of the effectiveness of some protectives to conserve the Candoglia Marble: silicon water repellent, perfluoropolyether, acrylic resin, and aluminum stearate. To evaluate the effect of the different treatments the following tests are made: 1) water absorption by total plunging, 2) evaporation, 3) contact angle, 4) water drop absorption, and 5) ultraviolet radiation test. The results show the characteristics of different treatments. These sometimes are positive, sometimes negative. The different protectives are selected on the basis of their characteristics: it is not possible to point out the most suitable one, but only suggest a silicon water repellent.
