Abstract
The measurement of x-ray orientation offers a method for the assessment of the degradation of polymers. This investigation outlines the rate of fall in orientation of the cellulosic polymer in cotton fibers over a long range of time. The degradation appears to take place mainly in the amorphous phase of the fiber. -- AATA
