Abstract
The oil mural painting of St. Christophorus in the Erfurt Cathedral was made in 1499 and destroyed by a fire of the 18th century. Restoration of the missing parts was first attempted in the 19th century. Recent restoration works of 1972-73 utilized the concepts of previous restoration in the modern conservation of the picture.
