Abstract
A report on the reconstruction of the lullingstone wall-plaster, from a roman villa in kent, england - a process which took nearly seven years because of the large number of pieces and the fact that one room had caved into another one below. Where no physical join existed, the restorers observed the design, texture, brush-strokes, fullness of paint, scribed lines, as well as any clues from the reverse. The reconstructed panels were backed with polystyrene, polyfiller and foaming polyurethane resin. Drawings, references.
