Abstract
Of all Swiss companies, Sihl is one of the richest in tradition. In 1471 the first paper was made in Zurich, on a small island of the River Limmat in the very heart of the town. A philosophy to maintain his tradition as specialist for special papers had developed quite naturally in the view of the fact that the Swiss paper industry had always been in the strong competition with Scandinavian and Austrian Paper Makers having the advantage of tremendous resources of cheap raw materials in their forests. Also in papermaking, the old Swiss tradition to aim at best possible precision and quality is justified. The Sihl paper range produced on the most up-to-date equipment includes the following: Finished papers with high quality specially produced for modern communication and recording technology. Drawing papers for traditional techniques as well as for use on modern graphics computers. Technical and special papers for industrial processing and industrial usage. Security papers, such as banknote, cheque, passport, bond and lottery use. Durable papers with high quality for printing and office use. Our team of dedicated and highly proficient staff is proud of these products and does its utmost to ensure that Sihl remains what it has been for centuries: a reliable partner in every respect.
