Abstract
The thermoformability of flame-resistant paper composed of Kanecaron modacrylic fiber was studied. The strength and elongation of fiber, yarn, fabric and paper were measured at various temperatures respectively. The suitable temperature range for the thermo-forming of fabric and paper was between 110 and 130°C. In this research, following conclusions were obtained: 1. Thermo-formability was as easy as plastic sheet and film. 2. Softer feeling and colorful design were given in comparison with those of plastics. 3. Kanecaron paper can have various industrial application.
