A review of the current U.S. federal regulatory situation for the cadmium sulfoselenide pigments. There has been controversy over whether or not cadmium pigments in powder form, or formulated into paints or inks, present adverse health effects. Policies, programs, and rules of the FDA, EPA and OSHA covering cadmium pigments are covered. Although there have been many proposals for regulation, evidence is equivocal and little regulation is in effect. -- AATA
