Abstract
Rattan plantations are relatively free from pests and diseases. An unidentified cerambycid feeding within the leaf sheath causes black streaks on the internodes of Calamus manan which reduce the value of the canes. Another unidentified beetle larva attacks the stem base. Three species of butterflies have been recorded in the nursery. -- AATA
