Triangular metal plates (7x7x7 cm, 1mm thick) were fixed with 3 screws to 25mm-thick pine boards treated with various water-borne preservatives, viz. Boliden P 50, Tanalith CCA, Cuprinol Tryck, Polybor, and Non-Com X. Corrosion was measured after about 5 yr, either outdoors near Oslo or in a humid indoor climate (85-95% RH). The amount of corrosion was affected more by the type of metal (copper and brass being the best) or metal coating (e.g. galvanized) than by the type of preservative. Tanalith CCA increased corrosion on most of the metals tested and Boliden P 50 reduced corrosion. -- AATA
