Abstract
The objectives of a health and safety program, the purpose of which is to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses, include recognition of hazards in the laboratory, evaluation of these hazards, and reduction of exposure to the hazard to the greatest extent possible. The aspects of a health and safety program discussed in part 1 include administrative support and the responsibility for the health and safety program.
