Some very fine embroidered needlework panels have come from Azerbaijan and some such pieces may date from as far back as the late 16th century. Five examples from the Textile Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest illustrate the brilliance of the colors and the embroidery techniques. Each piece is identified by inventory number, and is described with respect to its ground cloth, thread, stitches, and colors. -- AATA
