Abstract
The investigation of the pigments is an essential part of the research of the mural paintings and building elements before restoration. Their changes are caused by the following factors: oxidation, water and sulfides, light, high temperature, and different chemical agents. Some samples are enumerated in the text from the practical experience of the author.
