Abstract
The state carriage built in Paris for the bridal procession of Isabella of Parma and the Emperor Joseph II in 1760 at Parma and Vienna has been restored in Vienna. All relevant documents regarding its production and use, its transport from Vienna to Parma and return, and its maintenance are reported. Techniques used in the polychromy are described: gilding, silver applications, metal casting, painting and varnishing. Also mentioned are the textiles used and protection in packing for transport. -- AATA
