A general summary for non-specialists of climatisation work carried out in the scrovegni chapel, padua. The chapel is small and therefore less able to temper atmospheric changes (t,rh and co2 exhalation). Two hourly checks on t/rh were carried out throughout the chapel to determine local variations and also the influence of radiation, i.e. Where the sun may causing local warming. Proposed solutions include thermal insulation of roof, walls and doors, and window protection by ir and uv absorbing materials. Dust will reduced by special dust trapping mats. Incandescent (heating) lamps have been replaced by haloid lamps. It is suggested that these studies may benefit not only other similar buildings but also museums.
